Project overview
The EOW case management system is an integrated case and legal management platform developed by Websofy for the Economic Offences Wing (EOW), Uttar Pradesh Police. It gives headquarters, sector offices, investigating officers and enforcement officers one secure application for enquiries, investigations, legal proceedings, monitoring and reporting, and it is used across the state.
The situation before
Economic offence cases run for years and involve enquiries, investigations and court matters handled by different officers and offices. Tracking them through files and periodic returns makes it difficult for headquarters to see the current position of every case or to answer court and government queries quickly.
What the system covers
- Enquiry management: registration and progress of enquiries.
- Investigation monitoring: case records, stages and officer-wise pendency.
- Legal and writ management: court matters, dates and compliance.
- Centralised reporting: sector-wise and department-wide reports.
- Real-time dashboards: status for senior officers at a glance.
- Role-based access: each user sees and acts only within their authority.
- Digital records: documents and history maintained against each case.

Roles and oversight
Headquarters, sector offices, investigating officers and enforcement officers each work within their own role. An officer sees the matters assigned to them, a sector office sees its own cases and headquarters sees the whole department. Changes to a record are tied to the user who made them, which supports supervision and reply to court or government queries with confidence.
How Websofy delivered it
The project began with a study of the registers and returns used for enquiries, investigations and writs. Modules were built and demonstrated to the department in stages, existing records were brought into the system, and users were trained by role. The application was then audited for security and deployed on the state data centre. Websofy provides ongoing maintenance and adds reports as the department's monitoring needs evolve.
What changed
The department has a single, current record of its enquiries, investigations and court matters. Senior officers monitor progress on dashboards instead of waiting for returns, and reports are produced from live data. Websofy continues to support the system under an annual maintenance contract. Related work: case investigation management and writ management.
How we approach engagements like this
- Requirement discovery mapped to the real workflow, users and data involved
- Solution architecture and module planning before any code is written
- Secure, tested engineering with clear documentation
- Structured handover, training and post-launch support
